Overall this absorbs well and feels soft to the touch every time, even when wet. i plan on getting another in a different color soon. One observation is that if you have tile flooring (not my choice, just how the apartment came) like I do, the rug becomes extremely slippery if ANY water gets under it or soaks through. This led to a close call and my almost falling hard before I caught my balance on the sink. I checked below and there was a two-inch long streak of water that I by chance stepped right onto.I tested it from other angles and as the water spread, the carpet lost more and more traction. I wiped the floor dry and the rug stopped slipping, but this could be a major hazard if you shower after someone that was a bit splishy or splashy. Not sure if the same would happen on other types of flooring, but tile is definitely one to beware.This is a comfortable rug to step upon. It works well with the tub but I wish it was a bit larger.I really like this rug. And it's RED, just like I wanted. The other's I tried to purchase from other vendors were not really a Christmas Red. They were more of a maroon color.The only thing that I dislike about this rug is that it's not as NON SKID as I would like. Especially in the bathroom. It's not as slippery as a chenille rug I purchased in years past, but it still slips a bit.Primarily I bought this for the non slip feature and the color. I was satisfied with the mat for this. The mat was not as thick as I would like, but it is soft. It has been easy to clean.Since I am recovering from a broken ankle it is very important for me to have non slip items in the bathroom so I can safely bathe. This rug seems to fit the ticket for non slip.It is for the bathroom but it was changed due to absorbency. It feels wet for longer than expected. Got a diferent tipe perfect for this bathroom.
